Roasted Beans available in 500 grams or 1kg.
Light roast notes:
The lighter roast profile makes for a nicer black coffee than when roasted dark. It is equally delicious with milk making it a all round coffee. I tend to prefer it with a tighter grind (think ristretto) as this reduces any bitterness and brings out the honey sweetness.
As a guide:
Temperature: 92 degrees
Brew ratio 1:1.5
Ground beans: 18 grams
Brew weight: 28 grams
Extraction time: 25-30 seconds
Dark roast notes:
Expect a lot of body and strong notes of cocoa.
This cuts through milk excellently and as such, I prefer it for milk based rather than as an espresso. However, you can use it either way providing you are willing to put the time to dial in well.
I suggest the following recipe as a starting point:
Temperature: 88 degrees
Brew ratio 1:1.8
Ground beans: 20 grams
Brew weight: 36 grams
Extraction time: 25-30 seconds
Remember to always dial in your recipe according to taste.
Coffee constantly changes, especially as it matures and as it is degassing.
Don’t fixate on the numbers. Just experiment, adjust one variable at a time, and find out what works for you.
